SILVER/ VERSICOLOR TEAL Anas versivolor fretensis

Falklands 'Pampa Teal', a resident breeder, found in pairs or small parties, nervous and shy. Male and females are alike. Length: 46 cm (18 inches) They are likely to be found on larger fresh water weedy ponds and lakes where they upend and dabble for aquatic vegetation and water life.

Pampa teal are fairly common on East and West Falklands

The Falkland race A.v. fretensis is also found in Southern Chile from 42°S and Argentina 40°S to Tierra del Fuego.
